The Emil Frey Jaguar Team had their hands full following a turbulent start to the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup three weeks ago in Monza (Italy): With the #114 GT3 Jaguar suffering severe damage after being caught-up in the starting accident and the sister car #14 not seeing the chequered flag due to a technical incident, both „cats“ are now ready to race again on home soil at Silverstone.
Monza did not bring the desired turnaround with bringing home the laurels after running in the points position, however, both GT3 Jaguar impressed the competition with strong lap-times and a consistent fast pace. Especially during the long-runs, the two blue racing machines underlined their strong performance.
This coming weekend, the Emil Frey Jaguar Racing Team is looking ahead to race on home soil at the “Home of British Motorsport” at Silverstone (Great Britain). The Swiss team is hoping for a good result for the second round of the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup in front of their home crowds.
“It does motivate us that little bit extra to race in Silverstone, especially since we proved with 5th place in qualifying last year that we can compete at the front”, says Lorenz Frey, Team Principal Emil Frey Jaguar Racing. “We did not score any points in Monza, but we were very pleased with the overall performance and speed of both the GT3 Jaguar. All competing cars have come very close together and it has become a very fine line between success and failure, but we know of our potential and will completely exploit it.”
