Rik Breukers and Steven Liquorish completed a great recovery in the third and last round of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Middle East in Dubai, claiming the third overall place in Race 2 after a very unlucky Race 1, when Dutchman Breukers – who set the pole position in the first qualifying session – hit the barrier and had to prematurely retire.
In the second race British driver Liquorish was perfect, as well as Breukers who clinched a podium finish despite a penalty due to an infringement pit-stop.
In the Emirates the GDL Racing duo took a top spot one more. Same did the other Gianluca De Lorenzi’s team crews.
Australian John Iossifidis and other Dutchman William Van Deyzen claimed two second places in the Lamborghini Cup. Eventually Iossifidis became the class runner-up.
Italian Gabriele Murroni, making his return to the one-make series, finished third twice in the same Lamborghini Cup class.
In the same weekend GDL Racing celebrated the NGK Series’ double victory with Mohammad Hussain driving an Audi TCR car.
Selim Al Rifai showed well in the Radical Middle East, finishing both the races.
