B-Quik Racing is pleased to announce that Ian Ross Geekie will return to the team for a second consecutive season, driving in Thailand Super Series – Super Car GTC, starting from the opening round, which will take place at Sepang International Circuit at the end of the month.
Although we’ve known Ian for a long time, the veteran Australian racing driver joined us as a driver for the first time last season, contributing his wealth of racing experience and past successes to our line up in Super Car GTC.
The team was pleased with his input, Ian bringing one of our brace of Porsche 996 GT3 Cup entries home to record multiple points scoring finishes during the course of the 2017 ‘GTC’ season.
This year in Super Car GTC we will upgrade to the Porsche 997 GT3 Cup and it’s a car Ian certainly knows inside out so we expect him to be looking to collect points at every round, especially now he has a year’s experience of Chang International Circuit and the Bangsaen Street Circuit behind him.
However, before the two Thai tracks loom into view, Thailand Super Series will kick off the 2018 season by returning to Sepang Circuit for round one after a three-year hiatus. For Ian this is something of a ‘home track’ and he has built up an enviable reputation here, topped off by the prestigious Sepang 12 Hours where his highlights from multiple participations include finishing third overall in 2007 and winning the Sports Production class in 2011.
He’s also a double Asia Classic Car Challenge overall champion, all its rounds take place at the Malaysian circuit, and a three times title winner in the classic series’ hard fought Class B.
Ian Ross Geekie: “I am very happy and excited to continue to race with B-Quik Racing for a second season. This year we are stepping up to a 997 Cup car and I’m confident of improving on last season. I can’t wait to get started and thanks to B-Quik Racing for the opportunity. Sepang is more or less my home track and I have had some success there over the past years.”
Henk J. Kiks (Managing Director, B-Quik Racing): “I’m very pleased that it’s come together for Ian to join us again this year. We all go back a long way and Ian is a great addition to the team, he always gives it 100%, brings a lot of experience and I think he really slots straight into the philosophy of the team with his calm persona wrapped in a steely determination to fight it out on track.”
