Ivan Lukashevich has joined the Phoenix Racing team for the 2018 season. The 26-year-old Russian will race an Audi R8 LMS GT3 in the ADAC GT Masters and is looking to gain experience and fight for points while working with the Meuspath-based team.
“I cannot wait to get started in the new season,” says Lukashevich. “I have always dreamed of racing in such a high-quality field as the ADAC GT Masters. It won’t be easy for me, but I will work hard and give my all at every single race. With the help of Phoenix Racing, I’m sure I can have a great season.”
Hailing from Moscow, Lukashevich began his racing career in karting. He soon made the step up to single-seater racing, before switching to the newly formed GP3 series in 2011. The Russian has spent the last few years gathering experience in various touring-car and GT series such as the Toyota Racing Series and the Mitjet Series Russia. At Phoenix Racing, Lukashevich will partner up with Colombian driver Oscar Tunjo at the wheel of an Audi R8 LMS GT3.
The Phoenix Racing is in good shape going into the ADAC GT Masters season. The Audi team’s second car will be driven by Max Hofer and Philip Ellis. Team Principal Ernst Moser is confident about the team’s chances: “We are delighted to go into the new ADAC GT Masters season with such a strong driver line-up. Ivan Lukashevich is yet another young Phoenix Racing talent who has already proven his capabilities in a number of junior series.”
Phoenix Racing will soon have the opportunity to measure up against the ADAC GT Masters opposition. The series’ official test takes place at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben, near Magdeburg, from 26 to 28 March.
