One month after scoring a DNS in the opening round of the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup in Monza, GPX Racing managed to finish the Silverstone 3 Hours in style. The #20 Porsche 991 GT3 R sporting the Gulf colours spent the majority of the race in the top half of the 48-car field and came home 28th overall and 11th in the Silver Cup class.
Jordan Grogor, Benjamin Goethe and Stuart Hall’s combined performance in qualifying was good enough for a strong 19th position on the starting grid, ahead of the three other Porsches entered. The race proved to be spectacular for the audience and challenging for the competitors. The GPX Racing drivers’ pace was good and they never put a foot wrong.
Pierre-Brice Mena (Team Principal): “We are satisfied overall because we finished the race and it definitely was our number one target today. We are a young team with a lot to learn. The drivers out on track as well as the staff in the pitlane did a great job in a tricky race. Now we’ve got something to build on and it makes us confident ahead of the next round in Paul Ricard. We will not be starting from scratch as this is where the series’ official test days were held in March.”
The French round of the championship will take place on May 31st and June 1st at the famous F1 Grand Prix venue.
