In the absence of the bi-annual Paris Motor Show this year, visitors wishing to see the very latest new models whilst in France will not only be able to inspect the cars in detail and up-close during 23-24 September’s Les Grandes Heures Automobiles (LGHA) but also in many cases actually drive them on the legendary Linas-Montlhéry track, just a few miles south of Paris.
Following on from the new Peugeot 3008 making its world debut at last year’s LGHA, ahead of its ‘official’ 2016 Paris Motor Show reveal, this new motor show exhibition enhances the LGHA’s status, with this new attraction located at the heart of the LGHA Linas-Montlhéry Autodrome. It will provide a real hands-on thrill for visitors, with more than a dozen car brands represented, as well as a few motorcycle manufacturers. Participating car companies will include Alfa Romeo, Effeffe, Fiat, Infiniti, Land Rover, Tesla, Nissan, Smart, Mercedes-Benz, Renault, Subaru and Volvo, plus Honda, Yamaha and BMW Motorrad on two wheels.
Thanks to the LGHA’s unique long-term partnership with the UTAC CERAM Group – the custodians of the banked Linas-Montlhéry Autodrome – the LGHA is offering vehicle brands and prospective new car buyers an exclusive opportunity: the chance to organise initiation sessions and test drives for customers on the legendary road circuit – the very same circuit that used to famously host the 1,000 km de Paris endurance race!
An opportunity to offer test drives in such a wonderfully historic, memorable and safe track is rare indeed, with the opportunity being an unmissable experience for all drivers.
As well as many of the latest new cars models present at Montlhéry, for the first time this September’s LGHA will also include a dedicated display of supercars and performance GTs, curated by the leading French motoring ‘influence’ Alex Smolik.
Another new addition for the 2017 LGHA is the event’s first historic vehicle auction on Saturday 23 September, staged by Maison Aguttes, and located in the heart of the Autodrome in the stylish Pavillon 1924 building. An interesting selection of cars and motorcycles will be offered for sale, after a parade on the surrounding ring. A couple of competition cars highlights include an ex-Peter Brock 1958 Lotus Eleven and the ex-2004 Daytona 24 Hours Maserati 4200 Trofeo Light.
A sizeable exhibition area and autojumble will also keep LGHA visitors entertained, as will the huge car club displays, plus the hundreds of competition cars and motorcycles in action on the steep banked circuit, including Group B rally cars and endurance racers running until 10pm on the LGHA Saturday.
