FFF Racing by ACM will compete with Lamborghini Huracan GT3s in the Blancpain GT Series Asia championship, with entries in both the Silver and Pro-Am classes. Dennis Lind and Martin Kodric team up in the Silver entry, with Marco Mapelli and Hiroshi Hamaguchi in the Pro-Am car.
“This is an exciting new line-up and I can’t wait to see how we perform in this very competitive Asian series,” team owner Sean Fu Songyang said. “We’ve got some very impressive talent in the team and behind the wheel, so we’re heading into this championship in a very positive frame of mind. We have four drivers who have a lot of Lamborghini experience, so all in all, we expect it to be a very strong season in Asia.”
Lind, who secured championships in Danish Formula Ford, also has an impressive record in Lamborghini Super Trofeo, claiming victory in the World Finals in 2016, whilst also claiming the European Super Trofeo crown.
“I’m really happy to take part in this championship with FFF Racing,” said Lind who is part of Lamborghini’s Young Driver Program. “After a tricky 2017 I’m definitely ready to push hard for the championship alongside Martin and the rest of the team!”
Following an impressive karting career where Kodric secured multiple championships, the Croatian competed in Formula Renault before joining the Lamborghini fold in 2016. Campaigns followed in Super Trofeo before stepping up to the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup in 2017. With three victories in the Pro-AM class, whilst also racing in the Asian championship with solid results, he is looking forward to the season ahead with FFF Racing.
“I am thrilled to join a championship winning team such as FFF Racing,” said Kodric. “Having Dennis alongside just confirms that we can have a strong year.”
Hamaguchi meanwhile is no stranger to the Chinese-based team, having competed with the team since 2015, first in GT Asia and then in the Michelin Le Mans Cup, GT Open and Asian Le Mans Series. He is joined by Mapelli who is part of the Lamborghini GT3 factory driver roster.
“It is going to be my fourth year with FFF racing,” said Hamaguchi. “I have been with the team from day one and have seen a lot of ups and downs, smiles and disappointments. It’s about time for us together to win a championship this year and I am well prepared.”
Mapelli has competed with success in the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship as well as in numerous European GT3 categories. He also made headlines in 2017 as he set the fastest time in a production car – a Lamborghini Huracán Performante – around the Nurburgring Nordschleife.
“I’m really happy to join FFF Racing in the Blancpain Asia series,” the Italian said. “With Hiroshi San, we’re really looking forward to a great season together. Many thanks to Lamborghini Squadra Corse for the Asian commitment. It’ll be a busy and fun year!”
