Team manager David Price confirmed Bullitt Racing has ordered two Mercedes-AMG GT4s, with the first car being driven by Meyrick and team owner Stephen Pattrick who will again compete in the Pro-AM class of the series.
“I have never raced a Mercedes before but I am really excited for Bullitt and this move. Mercedes have proven with their GT3 that they are extremely competitive and focused on performance and I have been really impressed with the GT4 car’s preparation,” said Meyrick. “There’s a real GT4 buzz at the moment with all the manufacturers releasing new cars for it and I’m really happy to be back with Stephen and his very ambitious team. Stephen progressed so quickly last year in such a short amount of time. Given last year was his first race season, I’m very looking forward to the results we could have this year as we continue to develop.”
In 2017, Bullitt Racing enjoyed multiple podiums with both Meyrick and Pattrick behind the wheel.
“I am delighted that Andrew has agreed to drive with Bullitt again this season,” said Pattrick. His experience both on and off the track has been crucial in the development of Bullitt and the program, and is going to be important as we make the exciting move to the Mercedes GT4 car this year. I look forward to continuing our success and achieving more podiums in 2018.”
Delivery of the cars is expected in March. The first race of the 2018 GT4 European Series will take place on April 7-8 at Zolder, Belgium.
2018 looks to be a busy season for Meyrick, with more exciting news coming soon.
