ANSA Motorsports will make its debut in the IMSA Prototype Challenge presented by Mazda series open test today and tomorrow at Sebring International Raceway in Florida to prepare for next week’s first two rounds of the 2017 season. The team, based in Miami Gardens, Florida, will field a brand new Ligier JS P3 in the LM P3 class for driver Matt Dicken from Louisville, Kentucky.
In 2017, Dicken will race the ANSA Motorsports Strategic Wealth Designers Ligier P3 in the LM P3 class. He will be on the grid of rounds 1 and 2 of the 2017 IMSA Prototype Challenge presented by Mazda series next week at Sebring International Raceway during the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Fueled by Fresh From Florida race event.
“I am very excited to return to the IMSA series and especially this IMSA Prototype Challenge presented by Mazda, where my team and myself, as a driver, have won races and championships in the past,” said Alain Nadal, ANSA Motorsports team owner. “We have worked on this program since the announcement of the new, revamped series in anticipation of the new LM P3 prototype class. We have tested since November to get acquainted with the P3 cars, and I think we now have the equipment to help our driver, Matt Dicken, reach his personal goal with the LM P3 program and his racing career. It is going to be a long season, but I am sure that ANSA Motorsports will have a strong program and will be a true contender all the way to Petit Le Mans weekend in October.”
Announced as the ANSA Motorsports LM P3 driver for 2017, Dicken is also very happy to be testing this week and racing next week at Sebring in a brand new P3 race car.
“We are really looking forward to our first official test with IMSA in Sebring this week, and it will be the first time I get to drive ANSA Motorsports’ new Ligier JS P3 that we will be running this season,” Dicken said. “Based upon the car counts, LMP3 looks to gaining popularity here in the U.S. very quickly! I am sure that, for the first couple of race weekends, a lot of the drivers and teams will be feeling each other and their new cars out. Our goal is to get good results right away, so it will help us in the championship. Racing at Sebring is always exciting for me; I have had several race wins at Sebring in the past. In fact it is where I attended the Skip Barber Racing School, so I could get my first racing license.”
The LM P3 cars with Dicken will be on track at Sebring for four sessions: Thursday at 9 a.m. and at 1 p.m. ET and on Thursday at 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. ET.
