Callaway Competition – ADAC GT Masters Champion 2017!

Callaway Competition became the winner of the 2017 season at the season final of the ADAC GT Masters. The team with Jules Gounon wins both the drivers’ and the junior ranking. Daniel Keilwitz is emerging as Vice Champion and also helped win the trophy in the team ranking.

The drivers’ ranking was decided early on Saturday with a start-to-finish victory by Callaway driver Jules Gounon. Second place on the podium was enough to decide the team ranking at noon on Sunday. Callaway Competition is emerging as the most successful team. Daniel Keilwitz, who was forced to miss six races, collected enough points in the end to become Vice Champion.

“Jules did a great job the entire season and became a lot stronger,” team owners Giovanni Ciccone and Ernst Wöhr said happily. “He knew when to hold back and understood that a fourth-place finish is sometimes more important than a trophy. We are pleased that Daniel had a chance to demonstrate his former strength again. He is a confident driver and rises to the occasion when it counts. We are proud of both our drivers and happy about the title in the team ranking that also rewards the work of our team. Of course the racing gods always play a big role. You do need a bit of luck.”

This is already the second title in the ADAC GT Masters for Callaway Competition. The private team first accomplished this in 2013. The championship title also confirms the performance of the Corvette C7 GT3 developed and built by the team itself.
