Devon Modell’s horizons are about to broaden, as he is set to make his Asian Le Mans Series debut at the wheel of a Eurasia Motorsport-prepared LMP3 prototype after signing a new management contract with BAM Motorsports Group for 2017 and beyond.
The Kent, England-based racer will pilot a WINEURASIA Ligier JS P3 in the final four-hour race on the 2016-17 Asian LMS schedule at the Sepang International Circuit near the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur (20-22 January).
A high-calibre entry of 33 cars spread over five classes reflects the Asian LMS’s burgeoning stature and the growing popularity and strength of the Asian motorsport scene, which is increasingly viewed as an effective breeding ground for young aspirants.
Modell – a youthful, but experienced GT endurance racer – made his prototypes debut in a one-off VdeV Sports outing at Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours in 2016, but new and exciting opportunities are arising since agreeing to expand an existing relationship with BAM Motorsports that dates back to 2014.
BAM Motorsports will continue supplying a tailor-made press, PR and marketing service that incorporates digital and print campaigns, social media and website maintenance, but the partnership will extend to incorporate sporting and commercial management services.
As he’s about to take a big step in his career in new machinery, Modell is already benefiting from BAM’s extensive business knowledge of motor racing, which is used to guide, add value, maximise exposure and raise clients to the next level of the sport.
