FACH AUTO TECH embarks in 2019 on its seventh Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup season. After its 2018 vice championship, the team participates with a completely new driver pairing in 2019, which was introduced at the team presentation in Sattel. Florian Latorre, Jaxon Evans and Kantadhee Kusiri will be behind the wheel of the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup.
Over the last few years, the FACH AUTO TECH team has firmly established and proved itself as a major player in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup. Alex Fach’s squad celebrated the 2014 championship title and was vice champion in 2016 and 2018. The team is well-known for helping young drivers attain first-class levels.
Florian Latorre has previous Porsche-Cup experience and drove in the 2016 and 2017 French Porsche Carrera Cup, before switching in 2018 to the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, where his strong performance secured him the victory in the Rookie classification.
The two Supercup Rookies Jaxon Evans and Kantadhee Kusiri will also be driving for the Swiss squad. The New Zealander Evans can certainly demonstrate Porsche know-how: he won the 2018 Porsche Carrera Cup Australia and rose to become Porsche Junior in 2019, thus following in the footprints of fellow countryman and former FACH AUTO TECH driver Earl Bamber. Kusiri from Thailand was crowned champion in the 2017 TCR Asia Series and drove in the 2018 Super GT Series.
The 2019 season will see FACH AUTO TECH strengthening the partnership with its friends from the Project 1 team and together with the German squad it will be running three more cars in the Supercup. Hans-Bernd Kamps and his crew are also renowned for their extensive support of young talent and they look back on longstanding Porsche brand trophy experience. Utilizing mutual synergies will provide a boost to the training and promotion of young drivers.
“The partnership with Project 1 offers us a great opportunity to support our drivers more extensively in the coming season. In addition to his Supercup participation, Jaxon Evans gains further practice, when he drives in the Carrera Cup Deutschland for Project 1 and JBR”, explains team manager Alex Fach at the team presentation. “We’ve named a young, but very punchy line-up and I’m sure we’ll be scoring top results with them. We’re looking forward to the season and the cooperation with Project 1 and we’d like to say many thanks to all our partners for their support.”
Alex Fach presented the new driver trio and the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup to partners and friends in the course of the event at the car dealership in Sattel. The team also offered a closer look at its plans for the 2019 season, which also includes a commitment in the Porsche Sports Cup Suisse.
The customer sport series begins its season on 27 April at the Austrian Red Bull Ring. The Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup’s season opener is scheduled from 10 to 12 May in Barcelona.
