GDL sweeps all at Dubai in 2nd round of Lamborghini Super Trofeo Middle East

GDL Middle East swept all in the second out of three double rounds of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Middle East held this weekend at the Dubai circuit. After having claimed last week a victory in Race 2, in the inaugural round at Abu Dhabi, Dutchman Rik Breukers (18) and 22-year-old Zimbawe’s Axcil Jefferies – both second in the qualifying – dominated the two races.

The GDL Middle East duo raised to three the number of their victories in the first four races of the one-make series open to the Huracán ST racecars, taking the lead in the PRO standings.

Spotlights also on Andrew Haryanto, twice second overall and first among the AM drivers. The Indonesian, who already grabbed a second and third position at the Yas Marina track, let the  Gianluca De Lorenzi’s team to take a double in both the races.

Great job also for British duo Steve Liquorish and newcomer George Richardson – the 25-year-old driver with experiences in the European Le Mans Series and Asian GT – who finished twice second in the PRO-AM in front of their team mates Costantino Bertuzzi and Nigel Farmer, with the X-One’s car supported by GDL Racing first in their class and third overall at Abu Dhabi.

The next and last round of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Middle East will be held at the Dubai track again from 2 to 4 March.
