Giancarlo Fisichella and Jacques Villeneuve on the Ferrari 488 GT3 run by Scuderia Baldini

The former Formula 1 driver will share the wheel of the #27 car in the Italian Endurance GT 2019 Championship. Only the announcement of the third driver is now missing to complete the dream team of the outfit based near Rome.

The Team Owner of Scuderia Baldini anticipated that: “I am doing all I can to confirm Giancarlo Fisichella on our #27 car alongside Villeneuve”. The great work of Fabio Baldini had obviously given the results he had hoped for and this morning the Italian outfit officially announced the agreement with the former Formula 1 driver.

Giancarlo Fisichella will compete alongside the previously announced Jacques Villeneuve on the Ferrari 488 GT3 that the Italian outfit will field in the 17th edition of the Italian GT Championship in the Endurance series. This dream team features two great champions, both former Formula 1 drivers, that will raise the profile of the Italian series that this year will have a new format with the ENDURANCE and SPRINT series. This stellar drivers lineup will be completed shortly with the announcement of the third driver, as confirmed by Fabio Baldini: “I am extremely happy to have Giancarlo in our team again. He is a certainty for the whole team, especially regarding the new challenge of endurance races. Fisico is a serious professional and his experience will be crucial to face a challenging season like this year’s campaign. In 2018 Giancarlo has always been very competitive and I believe he will give his best this time around too, especially as he and Jacques will be the reference for the whole team. We are still evaluating the name of the third driver, who will be a lucky and competitive teammate of such two great champions.”

On top of the third driver of the Endurance series, Scuderia Baldini still has to name the two drivers that will take part in the Sprint series on the 488 GT3.
