Global Success for Bentley Motorsport’s Customers

Bentley Motorsport’s customers sprayed champagne on both sides of the Atlantic this weekend as K-PAX Racing scored two race wins in Pirelli World Challenge and Team Parker Racing took a podium in the British GT Championship.

In the USA, Bentley works team driver Maxime Soulet (BEL) and rising star Rodrigo Baptista (BRA) took the Pro-Am pole position and went on to take overall race one victory at the Virginia International Raceway. Starting from the front of the grid for race two, the pair put on another impressive display to take the Pro-Am class win 60 minutes later.

The results mean that K-PAX has scored a podium finish in every round of this season’s Pirelli World Challenge bringing their total tally of silverware with the Continental GT3 to eight.

Over in the U.K., Team Parker Racing continued its run of podium results when British racing ace Callum Macleod made a fantastic last lap pass to take second place in the #7 Continental GT3. He and team-mate Ian Loggie (GBR) perfectly demonstrated the car’s capabilities in mixed conditions as the Rockingham International Speedway changed frequently between dry and damp.

Bentley’s Director of Motorsport Brian Gush commented: “It’s been another successful weekend for us and our customer teams around the globe. K-PAX Racing impressed us from the word go with their professionalism and attention to detail and it’s proving to be fruitful as they continue to take great results week after week with Bentley Motorsport right by their side for support. An overall race win in Pirelli World Challenge is no mean feat but we’re sure it’s the first of many more to come. As well as some fantastic results, the team has had some bad luck with car damage but everyone has worked incredibly hard to bring perfectly prepared cars to every race and, for that, they must all be commended.”

“Team Parker Racing expanded its programme this year to cover the full Blancpain GT Series and British GT Championship, so to be getting podium results in both, right at the start of the season, shows great preparation. Conditions at Rockingham this weekend were tough but the team showed the versatility of the Continental GT3 to take second place in what is probably the most-competitive Pro-Am GT3 championship in the world.”

While K-PAX racing has a three-week break from racing before it heads north to the Canadian Tire Park, there’s no rest for the team as it has two damaged cars to repair following unfortunate incidents at the weekend.

Team Parker Racing will also have a busy week ahead as the crew leaves Rockingham to head straight to Brands Hatch for the British round of Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup, which takes place on 5/6 May.
