Graham Davidson and Jonny Adam join forces at TF Sport for 2019 British GT title challenge

TF Sport are delighted to announce that Graham Davidson will join the team to compete in the 2019 British GT Championship alongside countryman and defending champion Jonny Adam. The pairing will compete in the all new Aston Martin Vantage GT3 alongside multiple race-winner Mark Farmer and a yet to be confirmed second driver in the sister car.

Graham made his debut in the British GT Championship in 2018 with Jetstream Motorsport, taking his first victory at Spa-Francorchamps before finishing the season seventh in the overall standings. Prior to that the 33-year old dominated the GT Cup Championship with an impressive 15 wins from 22 starts. With clear championship aspirations, he is now looking forward to the next chapter in his short racing career to date.

Jonny meanwhile needs little introduction, having claimed three British GT Championships with three different teams as well as winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Jonny currently competes with TF Sport in the FIA World Endurance Championship where he has claimed two runner-up positions from his two starts to date. Jonny’s most recent championship success came in the British GT in 2018 where he and Flick Haigh took two wins with Optimum Motorsport en-route to the title.

The championship gets underway next year at Oulton Park over the Easter weekend and concludes with the second visit to Donington Park next September.

Tom Ferrier, TF Sport Director

“We started informal talks with Graham at Brands Hatch and then met up over the Donington weekend and pretty much tied up the deal. He has shown impressive pace in his first season in the British GT Championship and is already part of the Aston Martin racing family, so I’m sure that together we will enjoy success in 2019.

“Obviously it’s great to have Jonny back with us in British GT. His pace is never in question and he has the maturity to put together championships. Together with Graham and the new GT3 package, it should be a very strong campaign.”

Graham Davidson

“It’s fantastic to be joining TF Sport for next year and to have a teammate in Jonny Adam, well, it doesn’t get much better than that! It’s going to be mega and I just hope I can do it justice. Last year I showed good pace but perhaps pushed too hard on occasion. It’s funny that my win at Spa was actually one of the easiest of my races, so I learned a great deal through the season. I enjoyed my time with Jetstream, they took me from track days to victory in British GT, but I need to step up if I am to realise my true potential and they understand that.

“I drove the new GT3 at Snetterton in the wet recently with Jonny and straight away I could feel the performance gains. The car feedback was excellent, it has great traction and turn in, so I’m sure that as a complete package, we’ll be right up there.”

Jonny Adam

“It’s good to be returning to TF Sport – Tom knows how to put together a good team. I raced against Graham this year and he proved to be a very rapid Am and his win at Spa shows that he has the pace and is learning quickly how to get the most out every opportunity. It’s his second year with Aston Martin, so it’s great to see him stepping up with the new Vantage.

“We all like to set goals ahead of every season, he will be aiming for his first championship and I’ll be pushing hard for my fourth. I’ll work closely with him in terms of coaching, simulator work and making sure that he’s completely focused on the driving. I’m quietly confident that as a team, we can put together a strong championship challenge.”
