GRT Grasser Racing aims at 2018 Blancpain GT Series and ADAC GT Masters titles with three Lamborghini Huracán GT3s

With no less than three Lamborghini Huracán GT3s, the GRT Grasser Racing Team aims to be in contention for the 2018 ADAC GT Masters and the Blancpain GT Series titles.

In 2017, the GRT Grasser Racing Team already racked up three race wins in the ADAC GT Masters. The most successful Lamborghini team also set the benchmark in the 2017 Blancpain GT Series by winning the championship titles in the teams’, drivers’ and the endurance classification. In January, the GRT Grasser Racing Team managed to score its first major victory of 2018 by winning the GTD class in the most famous 24-hour race in the US at Daytona. The driver line-up of Rolf Ineichen (CHE), Mirko Bortolotti (ITA), Franck Perera (FRA) and Rik Breukers (NLD) together achieved this historic race win for Lamborghini.

Thus, the team is really confident going into the 2018 season. In the ADAC GT Masters, team owner Gottfried Grasser is mostly relying on the successful and proven drivers.

#19 Ezequiel Perez Companc (ARG) and Franck Perera (FRA)

#82 Rolf Ineichen (CHE) and Christian Engelhart (DEU)

#63 Mirko Bortolotti (ITA) and Andrea Caldarelli (ITA) who will be racing with the new sponsor ‘Orange 1’ under the ‘Orange 1 Team by GRT’ banner.

The 2018 Blancpain Endurance Series will see the following drivers on the grid:

#19 Ezequiel Perez Companc (ARG), Raffaele Giammaria (ITA) and another PRO driver who will be named after the first test.

#63 Mirko Bortolotti (ITA), Christian Engelhart (DEU) and Andrea Caldarelli (ITA), the defending champions who are keen to repeat their success from 2017.

#82 Rolf Ineichen (CHE), Franck Perera (FRA) and another PRO driver who will be named after the first test.

The GRT Grasser Racing Team will also have a top-level line-up for the Blancpain Sprint Series again. With 20-year young Dutch driver, Loris Hezemans, Gottfried Grasser got a hopeful young talent into his team. Father Toine Hezemans ranked among the best sports car drivers in the 1960s and 1970s. As a works driver for Alfa Romeo, BMW and Abarth, he competed in the Le Mans 24 Hours, the Daytona 24 Hours, the Nürburgring 1000 km race and the legendary Targa Florio. He won several classics. The Hezemans family members have fuel running through their veins!

Loris Hezemans says: “I am looking forward to the challenge of racing for the GRT Grasser Racing Team in the Blancpain Sprint Series with one of the best GT drivers, Franck Perera.”

The line-up for the 2018 Blancpain Sprint Series is as follows:

#19 Ezequiel Perez Companc (ARG), Andrea Caldarelli (ITA)

#63 Mirko Bortolotti (ITA), Christian Engelhart (DEU)

#82 Loris Hezemans (NLD), Franck Perera (FRA)

Team owner Gottfried Grasser is very confident: “What a start into the 2018 season! We can be very happy with third place in Dubai and above all our historic win in the Daytona 24 Hours in January. Now, we want to defend our Blancpain GT Series title and try to finally bring the ADAC GT Masters title to Austria as well. With the proven Lamborghini Huracán GT3, we have a race car that is capable of winning. We are well aware that our goals are ambitious, but we will do our utmost to build on our most recent achievements.”
