HB Racing starts with Luca Ludwig and Dominik Schwager

HB Racing relies on a strong driver line-up for the Ferrari-comeback in the ADAC GT Masters. The team managed to sign the series’ 2015 champion Luca Ludwig (D). The second driver spot was given to Dominik Schwager (D), another driver with a lot of experience and numerous victories in the German “League of dream sports cars”.

More than 100 races, one overall-championship, twelve victories and nearly 30 trophies: With Luca Ludwig, HB Racing signed one of the most successful drivers in the ADAC GT Masters history. “When such a driver is available on the market, you do not have to think twice as a team principal,” Dietmar Hirsch, head of HB Racing, explains. “The switch to Ferrari, our technical cooperation with Rinaldi Racing and our new driver line-up mark three cornerstones for a successful 2018 season.”

The team from Neumarkt in Upper Austria is especially convinced of the stability of Luca Ludwig’s performance: “In all of his full season commitments, Luca stood on the podium at least twice,” Dietmar Hirsch emphasizes. “Mercedes, Audi and Corvette – no matter what car he drove, he was fast. Therefore, we are sure that Luca will be among the best pilots in the Ferrari as well. The first tests were promising.”

With six victories in 50 races, Dominik Schwager is one of the most successful drivers of the ADAC GT Masters as well. “Beside his speed another decisive factor was Dominik’s experience with Ferrari race cars he collected together with our technical partner Rinaldi Racing,” Team-Manager Andreas Fuchs illustrates.

Already since February, the brand-new Ferrari 488 GT3 of HB Racing is used for test drives. “Our first impression is very positive,” Andreas Fuchs reports. “The mechanics and engineers quickly adapted to the new car. Right now, we are focusing on setup work.” The HB Racing Ferrari will meet its competitors for the first time during the official ADAC GT Masters test days from March 26 to 28 in Oschersleben (D).

The first race of the season will be held on the weekend around April 15 in Oschersleben as well. Afterwards the journey leads to Most (CZ), before the home race at Red Bull Ring in Spielberg (A) will mark a first highlight for HB Racing. In the second half of the year, races at Nürburgring (D), Zandvoort (NL) and Sachsenring (D) are followed by the season final in Hockenheim (D) in September. As usual, all races will be broadcast in Free-TV and online by German TV station “SPORT1”.
