British squad Lee Mowle Motorsport (LMM) is the latest addition to the Silverstone entry list. The Wimbledon-based team, currently competing in the British Gt and Michelin GT3 Cup series, will sport its red Mercedes AMG for Ryan Ratcliffe and Phil Keen. “The one-off entry into GT Open signals a potential pairing of the British duo in a future campaign”, said in a statement the team led by Lee Mowle, who is himself a well-known GT driver.
Welshman Ryan Ratcliffe (23), one of the young guns on the British GT scene, is delighted ahead of his GT Open debut alongside Phil Keen: “It’ll be a blast. It’s the first time we’ve worked together this year, and it’ll be interesting to see how we do in a race situation. We’ve done some coaching before, but this will be the first time where we work together over a whole weekend; hopefully it will all click into place. I’ve made giant steps forward with the Mercedes this season, and I believe I’ll really benefit at Silverstone from Phil’s experience.”
Englishman Phil Keen (33), one of today’s established GT stars, needs no presentation, and certainly not in the GT Open, where he has been a top contender and race winner in the last couple of seasons. “The GT Open is a great championship that I’ve competed in over the past two years with Balfe Motorsport, so returning at Silverstone with the Mercedes will be great”, he commented, “Ryan is driving really well at the moment and I hope this weekend will push on to that next level; we’re entered as a PRO pairing, so he needs to get stuck in”.
