Home ELMS round at Monza for Cetilar Villorba Corse

Cetilar Villorba Corse tested at Monza during the official session before the start of the season, but for the Italian team and its “Italian Spirit of Le Mans” heading to the famous Autodromo Nazionale for the second European Le Mans Series round sounds definitively special. From May 12 to 14, the squad led by Raimondo Amadio will be back there to take part in the 4 Hours of Monza with racing drivers Roberto Lacorte, Giorgio Sernagiotto and Andrea Belicchi on the Dallara P217 of the LMP2 class. Cetilar Villorba Corse trio comes out from the great recovery from the back of the grid up to sixth place in their 2017 debut at Silverstone. Monza, as well as crucial ELMS round, will also be their last test before reaching France for the most awaited event of the endurance season, the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The ELMS visited Monza at the end of March for the official test but May 14, 2017 will mark the first race at the Autodromo Nazionale since 2008. With a spectacular entrylist of 36 cars, action will start on Friday with the first free practice session, followed on Saturday by the second one and, at 13:15hrs, by the qualifying session. The start of the 4 Hours of Monza will take place on Sunday at 13:30hrs. Live coverage will begin just before the race on www.europeanlemansseries.com .

Team Principal Amadio says: “Monza is a special place where the glamour of speed finally rejoins prototypes and ELMS. A perfect match for what will be a special race for the whole team, overcommitted to give its best. We had a positive racing weekend at Silverstone, we hope the home round will be a further step forward. Thinking about Le Mans, next weekend is also a significant test for our pace and efficiency. A very preparatory race where, thanks to the low downforce configuration, we can collect useful data for the 24 Hours”.
