Following a very successful first campaign in the GT Open last year (3rd in the Am category, with 2 wins and 5 other podium finishes), Austrian squad MS Racing is stepping up its effort for 2018, thanks to a recently-announced association with stalwart GT team HTP Motorsport. The Mercedes AMG will be entered this year under the banner of HTP Motorsport / MS Racing, entrusted again to Martin Konrad and Alexander Hrachowina, and sporting the unmistakable pink livery of BWT, the Austrian water technology company which is an active motorsport sponsor.
MS Racing principal Matthias Stepanek explained: “We had a successful and very enjoyable season in the GT Open last year, with very limited resources: one car, 2 drivers, 3 mechanics and myself as a manager! Still, we were among the front-runners in the Am category and were fighting for the title despite a couple of crashes. The possibility of an association with HTP Motorsport stems from my good friendship with Norbert Brückner whom I know since many years. Having them as partners, with their technical competence and means, and having the support of BWT, will bring us one or even two steps forward! We are delighted to offer such a package to Alex and Martin and to strengthen our Am class title bid.”
