All roads will truly lead to the Sebring Circle Tuesday, March 13 when the inaugural IMSA Twelve Hour Fan Fest at Historic Downtown Sebring gets underway with the Outback Steakhouse Transporter Parade featuring more than 40 IMSA WeatherTech Championship teams.
The free community event will allow fans to welcome their favorite teams and drivers to Sebring as the elaborately designed transporters enter Circle Park Drive from Sebring Parkway and North Ridgewood Drive at 5:30 p.m. Music and entertainment at the circle will start at 5 p.m. with many drivers competing in the 66th Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring presented by Advance Auto Parts taking part in autograph sessions, fan forums and meet and greets. Food trucks, Sebring International Raceway displays, photo opportunities with the Corvette pace car and several of the world’s fastest and most technologically advanced race cars from the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship will be on display.
Other highlights will include opportunities to win race tickets and other giveaways. IMSA and Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring presented by Advance Auto Parts merchandise and tickets as well as commemorative race posters and programs will be on sale.
The event will celebrate the significance of the historic race for residents of Sebring and Highlands County and be a way for the city, IMSA and the Raceway to say thank you to residents who make the 12-Hour Classic an internationally significant event. All Fan Fest activities will take place from 5-9 p.m.
The Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Presented by Advance Auto Parts is the second race of the 2018 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Wayne Taylor Racing’s No. 10 Konica Minolta Cadillac is the defending overall champion of the famed race, and Action Express Racing’s No. 5 Mustang Sampling Cadillac won the opening race of the season at Daytona.
The race starts at 10:40 a.m. on March 17, with practice and qualifying March 15-16. March 16 will also include the Alan Jay Automotive Network 120 IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge race and the IMSA Prototype Challenge presented by Mazda.
