The Inter Europol Competition team and drivers will be more confident and more positive in the second round of the ELMS this coming weekend (12-14 May) at Monza. More confident because both drivers, Kuba Smiechowski and Martin Hippe, have had more time in the #13 Ligier LMP3 and both tested at Monza in March. More positive because the team finished first and second in the 6-hour race at Portimao in the VdeV championship at Portimao (Portugal) two weeks ago.
In the first ELMS race at Silverstone the Inter Europol Competition team finished seventh but inherited sixth place after a driver time penalty of one of the other teams. For Hippe it will be his first-time racing at Monza, Smiechowski raced here last year.
Michael Keese (Technical Director): “When we tested here in March we found a good set up for the car and also some more speed on the straight. After first and second place in the VdeV at Portimao we are hoping for a better result than at Silverstone, though we were quite happy to finish there in 6th place. Especially in this strong field of competitors.”
