JRM announces Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 entry with impressive young drivers

The championship-winning Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 under JRM Racing (JRM) will be heading to the track next month following an announcement of a confirmed entry from JRM. The striking car enjoys a huge fan base and is now entered in to Round 9 of SRO Motorsports Group’s British GT Series at Donington Park on 23rd and 24th September.

This Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 has started its life in the JRM workshop, and race-teams around the world are supported by JRM race engineers and our accredited parts supply team. Last seen on the track in 2013 for Blancpain, JRM Racing have been relentless in their pursuit of race-winning speed. The Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 has undergone more than 300,000km of development and the NEW car features various evolutions to make the car easy to drive.

Jason King – Managing Director of JRM Group Ltd says “Getting back on the track with a newly built Nismo GT-R GT3 specification Nissan, driven by a new, young and talented team is what we have been waiting for. The past few years JRM has focused on our applied engineering and assembly manufacturing, working with major OEMs and clients around the world. The time was right to unleash the team and set the challenge to get back on the track with a car, garage support and drivers that we feel has serious podium potential. I look forward to great successes over the coming races, under the careful watch of Elliot Dason-Barber, our Technical Director.”

Taking the wheel at Donington Park are two talented young drivers – Charlie Fagg and Ben Green. Fresh off the back of a spate of podium finishes in GT4 including a win for Fagg in his debut British GT GT4, securing a double victory at Spa earlier this year in the Ebor GT Maserati, the drivers are ready for their next step, starting their GT3 career in a Nissan GT-R NISMO with the concrete support of the JRM team.

Fagg, still only 17 years old, will be racing the JRM prepared Nissan GTR partnered with Ginetta G55 front runner, Ben Green, 19 years old. The pairing should see the Nissan GTR continuing its historical success within GT racing. Fagg is currently competing in the GT4 European Cup in a Nissan 370Z and has shown huge promise with some impressive outings while Green, who’s aim it is to move to endurance racing long-term, has been racing in GT4 for the past two years, earning two impressive podium finishes on August 3rd at Snetterton in the 2017 Michelin Ginetta GT4 Supercup.

Ben Green, JRM Young Driver says “This is a big step up but a natural progression for me and I’m really looking forward to testing the limits of the Nissan GTR Nismo GT3 around a track I know very well, having picked up my first win here at the beginning of this season. It will be my debut in British GT and with a good driver pairing in Charlie, as well as the support of JRM, we’re ready for the challenge.”

Fagg also commented, “I’m really excited to get started with JRM. They have a fantastic history in motorsport and to be a part of their path into GT racing is a massive opportunity for me and one I am very much looking forward to start. I’m delighted to be able to race the GTR-GT3, a car that has such good history. It’s very powerful and I am looking forward to driving a car with a good amount of aerodynamic capability, something that I am yet to experience”.

“After a successful ten years on and off the track, we felt it was the right commercial decision to use our wealth of experience and talent around us to create a fruitful and meaningful Young Drivers programme at JRM Group Ltd. Ben and Charlie are the perfect candidates for our first recruits onto the scheme, and we look forward to them embracing experiences on and off the track and developing a winning strategy.” Sally Povolotsky – Commercial Director, JRM Group Ltd

This means that for the drivers of the newly built Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3, they benefit from a world class service and vehicle that has been designed and created by experts in their field while also delivering a fantastic spectacle for GT-R fans.
