Juan Reina and Lorenzo López Fernández to enter GT4 South European Series with Ginetta G50

Both Spanish drivers will make their debut on the international stage at the wheel of a Plemar Sport-run Ginetta G50 GT4 at Jarama next month. Reina and López Fernández will fight for top honors in the GTC class.

Another Spanish duo is now set to make its GT4 South European Series debut next June as Juan Reina and Lorenzo López Fernández have announced that they will be joining the field in the second round of the series. Reina and López Fernández will share driving duties in the Plemar Sport-entered Ginetta G50 GT4 to take forward on the international scene.
 
The Spanish team will be competing in the GTC class, which is devoted to those GT4 cars no longer homologated. This new entry highlights the strong interest in this class, that have been growing and up to five Ginetta G50 cars have already officially confirmed their presence in the series, with a KTM X-Bow Super Light also confirmed.
 
Either Reina or López Fernández have previous experience competing in domestic racing series, the latter claiming the D1 class title in the 2008 Spanish Endurance Cup.
 
Series newcomer Reina underlines that “everybody in the team is delighted to make our GT4 South European Series. It marks our first appearance in such a trendy category in Europe right now. For this challenge, I will be accompanied by my teammate Lorenzo López Fernández, who has extensive experience in touring car and endurance racing and, of course, a good knowledge of the circuit.” Reina finally adds that “on the technical side Plemar Sport, led by Arturo and Javi, will also play a key role throughout the weekend. We have now been working together for some years in the Andalusian championship. I hope we will keep improving and could well enter more rounds later this season.”
 
Diogo Ferrão, promoter and organizer of the GT4 South European Series, explains: “I would like to extend a warm welcome to Plemar Sport and their drivers. We are very pleased to have more Spanish racers joining the GT4 South European Series because they are an important part of the championship. The entry list is getting even stronger for our second stop of the season and all is set for a strong start to the Spanish tour!”
 
The series promoted by Race Ready in partnership with SRO Motorsports Group kicked off at Nogaro, in the Coupe de Pâques, Round 2 will take place at Circuito del Jarama on June 15-16 also visiting later this year the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve and the Circuito do Estoril. In addition, a “Special Cup” will be held at the Vila Real street circuit.
 
The GT4 South European Series’ races will be TV broadcasted by Porto Canal (Portugal) and Teledeporte (Spain) and, additionally, on its Youtube Channel for the rest of the world.
