Change was definetely in the air. The desire to renovate and pursue new targets in terms of continuous growth was largely declared at the end of the 2016 season. The fifth season for the Italian team. Today, Krypton Motorsport is a new AMG Customer Sports Team and will race with a new Mercedes–AMG GT3.
This is a great challenge and an ambitious project, in perfect Krypton style. It is the result of a delicate and accurate study of the available technical propositions and of the European motor sport landscape. The careful examination started at least two years ago and will enable Krypton Motorsport to be able to face competitions, not only with renewed enthusiasm but also with the strong belief to possess the means required and all the needed resources to support such an effort and do justice to the prestigious Mercedes-AMG brand they will represent. Borrowing the words of the Formula One Mercedes drivers, “This is a company brimming with true race enthusiasts, starting from the Board of Directors till the factory floor and everybody is still hungry for victories”. These are the values and virtues shared at the Krypton headquarters. Now the agreements with the Stuttgart auto maker have been signed and the investment has been approved, the Management is carefully assessing technical/sport requirements and examining a few options to place car, crew and partners in the most suitable environment in the 2017 season.
