We are happy to welcome Kuno Wittmer in the GTronix360° Team mcchip-dkr. The Canadian will drive the Renault R.S. 01 GT3 at the 24h-qualifying race and the 24h-race through the Green Hell. As professional driver who has already been active as a BMW factory driver in the American IMSA series, he will support our regular drivers Dieter Schmidtmann and Heiko Hammel. Wittmer was able to collect enough experience on the famous Nordschleife between 2016 and 2017 with Schubert Motorsport. He has already completed a 24h-race and numerous VLN races on a BMW M6 GT3. In addition to the commitment on our Renault R.S. 01 GT3, he drives this year also an Acura NSX GT3 in the IMSA racing series. Find out more about Kuno Wittmer in the following interview.
How did you get into motorsport?
My family (father and grandfather), have always been involved in motorsport since 1976. I took my race school classes in 1998 and immediately, fell in love with the sport. Now 20 years later, I still have the drive and passion for the sport, more than ever!

2014 IMSA GTLM Champion in GTLM class with SRT Motorsports 2015 Rolex 24h Daytona Champion in GTD with Riley Motorsports
Your expectations and targets for season 2018?
Victory at the 24h of Nürburgring.
How do you prepare for a race weekend?
Physical and mental prep are key elements to a big race. Many drivers have their type of routine. I am a strong believer as we grow older into the sport, you must be fit and always at the top level of your personal performance. Nutrition management and physical training is must form me, every single day.
What do you do when you are not in the race car?
Family life, physical training and relaxing sports, such as golf. I am also a co-owner in a Honda automotive dealership with my family and co-owner in a gym/athlete performance center in Montreal, Canada.
