Every year, work is carried out around the 24 Hours of Le Mans with the goal of improving safety. This year is no exception with the construction of an additional means of access at the paddock for emergency vehicles.
In order to allow faster access to firefighting vehicles, a new paddock access way located at the back of the first pits is being built and will be operational before the 85th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Until now, there have been two gates sufficiently large to allow vehicles to enter the paddock, but soon a third gate will be available, particularly so fire trucks can intervene more quickly when necessary.
Undertaken by the Ouvrage du Syndicat mixte of the 24 Hours circuit, the work is well under way and while the backhoe continues excavation, the borders have already been laid out. Despite a different layout, an access ramp for disabled individuals will still be available, in compliance with the Agenda d’Accessibilité Programmé in process at the circuit. The work will allow access to various areas for those with reduced mobility.
