New TCR Europe series to join GT Sport-promoted weekends in five events

The TCR Europe, the new continental series for TCR touring cars that is kicking-off this year, will partner with GT Sport-promoted series in five out of the seven events of its inaugural season. The TCR Europe will share the bill with the International GT Open and the Euroformula Open at Paul Ricard, Spa-Francorchamps, the Hungaroring, Monza and Barcelona to offer fans one of the most diversified and exciting racing programmes this year.

Jesús Pareja, CEO of GT Sport, commented: “We warmly welcome the TCR Europe in our weekends. Thanks to the TCR concept, touring cars are back at the forestage of motorsports, and I am sure they will be an enriching contribution to our race programme and to our paddock. With the GT Open, the Euroformula, the TCR Europe and the Radical European Masters, fans on track and at home will enjoy all types of cars and races, from GTs to F.3 single-seaters, touring cars and sportscars. We are proud to be offering such a quite unique package!”

Paulo Ferreira, promoter of the TCR Europe, declared: “After being run as a single event for two years, the TCR Europe is now becoming a full-standing series, and we are thrilled to embark in this project, which seems to have excellent prospects. We are delighted to be a partner series in GT Sport-promoted weekends. I’ve known Jesús and his team for many years and know well the level of professionalism and visibility that their weekends have reached. We really look forward to contribute to what is certainly a highly attractive package!”
