Oman Racing with TF Sport aiming for Pro-Am honours with Blancpain Monza return

Armed with the new Aston Martin Vantage GT3, Oman Racing with TF Sport returns to the Blancpain GT Series with Ahmad Al Harthy, Salih Yoluc and Charlie Eastwood teaming up together in the Pro-Am Cup.

With a field of almost 50 competitors expected at Monza, the opening round of the series promises to be a closely fought affair. The #97 Oman Racing entry has completed extensive testing over recent months, culminating in successful a two-day outing at Paul Ricard in March.

Having competed in the Silver class last year, it’s a return to the Pro-Am Cup for Oman Racing with TF Sport, with what is now a very experienced Blancpain driver line-up. 2017 saw Ahmad Al Harthy and TF Sport regular Jonny Adam secure victory at Monza before going on to take the title honours.

Heading to Monza for the opening round of the championship, the team expect to get the 2019 campaign off to a strong start.

Tom Ferrier, TF Sport Director
“It has been a very busy winter for us with no real off-season but we’re looking forward to starting our 2019 season with the new Aston Martin. We raced the same car in the Gulf 12 Hours and have completed a great deal of testing with the cars over the last few months. Last year wasn’t the best for us in this championship honestly but we proved in 2017 that we can compete and win from the front, so that is our objective. We’re pleased to have Salih back for this championship, while it is good to have Ahmad and Charlie continue together for a second season in Blancpain.”

Amad Al Harthy
“I’m looking forward to racing the new car in this championship. We have a good team and we did a lot of running at Paul Ricard, so we’re now ready to see where we sit in this first round. I’m happy to have the National Bank of Oman, Ministry of Sports Affairs and Omantel racing with us in what will be a good season of competition.”

Salih Yoluc
“I have been teammates with both Ahmad and Charlie before and had enjoyed it a lot. They are more than quick enough to get the job done, which is to win of course. Testing was really promising so if we can convert that to a race pace then we should be strong.”

Charlie Eastwood
“I am really looking forward to Monza. We have a really great team and driver line-up with the brand-new Aston Martin GT3. It’s going to be tough as always in Blancpain but we’re up for the challenge.”
