ORANGE1 FFF Racing Team ready for Blancpain GT World Challenge Europe debut

ORANGE1 FFF Racing Team is ready to come back to action after a little spring break. The Chinese squad, running three Lamborghini Huracan EVO GT3, will attend its first sprint race event of the year at the season-opening round of the 2019 Blancpain GT World Challenge Europe 2019. The location is definitely fascinating, as the new series will see cars racing at Brand Hatch, the historical but insidious track which hosts what is also the second round of the Blancpain GT Series. After a successful season debut in Monza, with ORANGE1 FFF Racing shining with an overall second position in a wet and difficult race, it is now time to focus on May’s busy schedule. In Kent, the event will be held on a compact two-day format, with Free Practices and Qualifying on Saturday, and the two one-hour races on Sunday.

At Brands Hatch, the squad will field for the first time the two-driver line-up of the #563 with Andrea Caldarelli and Marco Mapelli paired together, while in the Silver Cup car #555, after a class podium in Monza, Diego Menchaca and Taylor Proto will drive the only Lambo in the category reserved to young talents. There will be great interest for the debut of Hiroshi Hamaguchi. The Japanese driver is the first winner in the history of FFF Racing, as well the reigning Pro-Am Champion of the Blancpain GT Asia. He will share the wheel with local hero and 2018 British GT Champion Phil Keen, who will race for the first time of the season in the Pro-Am class, at the wheel of #519.

Fu Songyang, ORANGE1 FFF RACING TEAM Owner
“Brands Hatch marks the debut of a new series in the SRO network, and we are happy to join this new project, as we did with Blancpain GT Asia. Hopefully, we can also be as successful, as, so far, we have been the best Lamborghini team in the field,  a pretty good result considering that it was our maiden official participation. In the UK we have three cars lined-up in all categories, which means that we have more chances to show our potential. I honestly don’t know what to expect, but this will be just the first step of a big back-to-back commitment, and we need to be prepared for the following week-end, when the focus will be on the Endurance Cup round at Silverstone”.
