Iván Pareras and Marcus Påverud will make their GT4 European Series debut this season in a Leipert Motorsport entered Mercedes-AMG GT4.
The German team confirmed its intention to race in the GT4 European Series last month and successfully tested the two seventeen-year-old drivers at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya last week.
Pareras impressed last season by clinching pole position for the 24 Hours of Barcelona in a Ginetta G55 GT4. The Catalan driver and his teammates eventually won the race overall.
“For me it is a great opportunity to be able to participate in the GT4 European Series and also have the satisfaction of do so at the wheel of the Leipert Motorsport Mercedes-AMG GT4,” Pareras said.
Påverud becomes the third Norwegian driver to take part in the GT4 European Series, following in the footsteps of Mads Siljehaug and Anna Rathe.
He raced in the Citroën DS3 Cup in Denmark and Norway, in the 24H Series with a Honda Civic TCR and tested a KTM X-Bow GT4 at the end of last year.
