This weekend, Paul Miller Racing heads north of the border for the Mobil 1 SportsCar Grand Prix at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP). Following a frustrating finish at the Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen, the No. 48 Lamborghini Huracán GT3 team is optimistic at a strong run at this weekend’s IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Challenge event.
Drivers Bryan Sellers and Madison Snow celebrated their podium together last year at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park with a third place finish. The 10 turn, 2.459-mile should suit the Lamborghini Huracán GT3 well, offering fast corners and a long back straight.
Weather will be a key player this weekend, with the current forecast predicting a varying mixture of partly cloudy skies, rain, and severe thunderstorms throughout the three day event. The inconsistency of the weather conditions will make finding the perfect qualifying and race set ups of the car more difficult, but if the conditions are anything similar to the Watkins Glen weekend, the No. Lamborghini Huracán GT3 team should have a strong package.
The Mobil 1 Grand Prix of Canadian Tire Motorsports Park will air live on FOX Sports 1 at 12:00PM Eastern. International audiences will be able to tune in live on imsa.tv. IMSA Radio coverage will begin starting with the first practice Friday morning at 11:20AM ET. For more information, visit imsa.com or radiolemans.com.

I’m really looking forward to Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. This was our first podium of the year last year. Madison and I had a strong performance here. After the balance we had at Watkins Glen, we’re excited to get here and try again. Watkins Glen didn’t end the way we expected it to, but the good news is that we get a chance to try again the very next weekend. In terms of an overall package, we feel very strong. Now we get to go race and see where we end up.

Paul Miller Racing was able to score a third place finish here last year, which was mine and Bryan’s first as teammates. I am very excited to return to this track this year and hopefully improve our showing from last year. At Watkins Glen we were able to try a few different setup changes that I believe will carry over to this high-speed high downforce racetrack and lend us an advantage over the other cars. Just like last week, the weather seems to be a little unknown at this point, meaning we have to prepare for both situations, or at least expect that we could be racing in the rain. Last year was sunny all weekend other that rain for our short morning warmup, maybe this year it will choose to rain all day. I have had quite a bit of experience in the rain at this track in the past as it can be a blast to race in! Hopefully we will be able to get some good results this results this race and then carry that momentum on to Lime Rock Park in two weeks.
