Phoenix Racing ceases activities in Asia

The Nürburgring-based team Phoenix Racing will be focusing its 2019 activities on European motorsport. With entries in the DTM, Blancpain GT World Challenge, VLN endurance series and the Nürburgring 24 Hours, the team has put together a significant programme for the 2019 season. Other projects, such as the expansion of its GT4 activities, mean that the team is running at high capacity.

“After long deliberations we have decided to take this decision,” said Ernst Moser. “Asian motorsport is changing extremely quickly, which means that we need to maintain a constant presence in the region. Unfortunately, that’s something we can’t commit to at the moment. The first step has been to give up our workshop in Sepang and move activities more towards Japan. We are looking into what’s possible in the future together with Marchy Lee, Managing Director in Hong Kong. This step is all the more regretful given the new partnership between Phoenix Racing Asia and Bentley concluded in 2018.”
