RN Vision STS-Team commits to a second season in the GT4-European Series

The german RN Vision STS-Team commits to a second season in the GT4-European Series. The outfit from Mönchengladbach will once again be one of the main contenders in the top-GT4-series of the SRO, going into the season with new cars and a slightly changed driver-lineup.

In 2017, the team relied on two Porsche Cayman GT4 MR and finished 2nd in the Pro-Am classification with Razvan Umbrarescu, 8th in the Silver-Cup with the pairing Jasper/Lefterov and as the best Porsche team. 2018 will see new equipment in the hands of the German outfit, which will bring at least two BMW M4 GT4 to the track. Pro-Am-Vice-Champion Razvan Umbrarescu (ROM) and Gabriele Piana (I) will move up to the Silver-Cup and share the steering wheel of the M4 with the #111. Piana already started the season on a high note with a win at the 24h of Dubai as one of the four pilots aboard the victorious Black Falcon AMG GT3. Changing to Pro-Am, Bulgarian pilot Pavel Lefterov will get a new partner. After John Louis Jasper left the team, the Portuguese sports car pilot Miguel Christovão will complete the crew of the BMW with the #112.

Parallel to the GT4-ES, RN Vision STS will compete in at least three other series. The two Porsche Cayman GT4 MR from the successful 2017 season will find a new home in the German NES 500 – National Endurance Series. The team plans to run a full season, participating in all five races of the German 4h-Endurance series. Additionally, several races in the German Porsche Sports Cup are also on the schedule. A first “toe in the water”-experience in an international 24h-race is under consideration. Apart from GT4, a cooperation with Team Hohaus will see two TCR-Audi RS3 LMS starting in the ADAC TCR Germany series under the banner of RN-Vision STS-Team Hohaus.

Team owner Marek Zuchowski, who moved with his squad to a a new teamshop in Mönchengladbach over the winter, hopes to repeat and even surpass the results from 2017 with the changes in cars and lineup: “Our goal for 2018 remains the same: we want to fight for class-podiums and wins. This will be hard enough as the competition will be even stronger this year. While featuring a new car, we continue with almost the same, slightly refined driver-lineup. In my opinion, the BMW provides the right package to fulfill our ambitions.”

A possible engagement of a third BMW M4 GT4 by RN-Vision STS in the GT4 European Series is currently under negotiation.
