Schwede Motorsport confirms two-car entry for Nürburgring

German squad Schwede Motorsport will run a pair of Porsche Cayman CS MR GT4s in the final round of the 2017 GT4 European Series Northern Cup at the Nürburgring (September 16-17).

The team, based in Hüllhorst in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, will make its GT4 European Series Northern Cup debut at the season finale in Germany, entering two cars in the Pro-AM class of the series.

Team owner Phillip Bethke is set to race the #13 Porsche Cayman CS MR GT4 at the Nürburgring and the 49-year-old German will share his car with 2012 FIA GT1 World Champion Marc Basseng, while former German Formula 3 driver Dominik Schraml will race with Porsche Sports Cup race winner Rudolf Schulte in the #15 Porsche Cayman CS MR GT4.

“We really want to see how competitive we are in the Pro-AM class of the GT4 European Series Northern Cup, with an eye on next season,” said Bethke. “For me it is the first time I will be a driver as well as a team manager, so obviously I am a little bit nervous.”
