Simpson joins LMP1 line-up as Le Mans Entry Lists finalised

Ginetta is counting down the days until the Le Mans 24 Hours debut for its pair of WEC-entered Ginetta G60-LT-P1s, the levels of excitiment peaking today with the trips to La Sarthe now in sight.

The driver line-up has seen a slight tweak for the Test Day and the Le Mans 24 Hours proper. Ginetta factory driver Mike Simpson is set to drive the #5 G60-LT-P1 alongside Ginetta development driver Charlie Robertson and reigning ELMS champion Léo Roussel.

Simpson was made aware of the news earlier this morning, and is delighted to be making his LMP1 debut at this year’s running of the Le Mans 24 Hours, after countless hours of work behind the scenes with Ginetta assisting with the development of the car and the programme as a whole.

“I’m absolutely delighted to be making my first Le Mans 24 hours appearance, I have been working and training hard with Ginetta for 10 years now for this opportunity and with the added celebration of the company’s 60thanniversary it will be a very special moment indeed for the business and I.

“I am especially excited to be in LMP1 challenging for overall honours, piloting the only British car on the grid. The notorious large British crowd at Le Mans each year will definitely inspire us to push hard.”

The Le Mans Test Day is set to run on Sunday June 3rd, ahead of the Le Mans 24 Hours later in the month on the 16-17th.
