The tendering procedure for the supply of tyres in GT4 class SP10 for the VLN season 2019/2020 has started. An exclusive supplier shall be selected: Interested tyre supplier may from now on request the documents for the transparent and non-discriminatory tendering procedure from the VLN VV GmbH. Bids must be submitted until 18thof September 17.00hrs.
“Single tyres constitute an important element of the GT4 grassroots concept within our series. In this regard, the issue safety and the principles of sporting equality for all teams take highest priority”, says Dietmar Busch, VLN VV GmbH Managing Director. “The single tyres will significantly contribute to a greater equity in the Balance of Performance (BoP) in class GT4 and even more importance will be attached to the ability of the drivers as well as to team tactics.”
The expectations with regard to the new tyre partner are high. A high degree of experience at the Nordschleife is expected. The tyre should moreover satisfy the characteristics of the various race cars and at the same time meet the complex requirements at the Green Hell, including the consideration of the partly extreme weather conditions. VLN attaches great importance to a competent and professional on-site support for the teams by the new tyre partner.
The GT4 Regulations were introduced by the SRO Motorsports Group in 2006. Meanwhile more than one dozen of series for production-based sports cars have been established worldwide. Single tyres are obligatory in most of these series.
