TF Sport chasing Oulton victory as new British GT season goes green

Having finished the 2017 British GT Championship as close runners-up, TF Sport are aiming to get back to its title winning ways in 2018, starting with a strong result as the new season kicks off this Easter weekend (31 March & 2 April) at Oulton Park.

Aston Martin Racing factory drivers Marco Sørensen and Nicki Thiim have both joined TF Sport to partner 2016 champion Derek Johnston and race-winner Mark Farmer respectively.

The British-based team has conducted extensive rebuilds on both Aston Martin Vantage GT3s followed by a significant test programme with all four drivers. Now the team are raring to go and start the 2018 campaign as they concluded 2017; with the win.

Tom Ferrier, TF Sport Director

“Having won the championship in 2016 and just missed out last year, we have clear ambitions for 2018. I’m grateful to Aston Marin Racing for making both Marco and Nicki available to us for this important championship. It will be very stiff competition but in saying that, we believe with the package we have, we will be right up there throughout the season.”

Mark Farmer #11

“Obviously I’m very excited about the all new driver line up and the season ahead. It will be great to get out there and to get stuck in and I’m looking forward to working with Nicki for the first time. The competition will be intense, but we’re ready for it.”

Nicki Thiim #11

“I really like Oulton Park having tested there with the team last month. I really like it as I’m used to a lot of corner with a lot of run off, but this is a proper old-school track. I’m so looking forward to getting back to racing and working with Mark as we aim for strong results together.”

Derek Johnston #17

“I am very excited to be racing this year alongside Marco Sørensen in our TF Sport Aston Martin with the goal of getting number 1 back on the car. It’s been a long off-season and I can’t wait to be racing again.”
