Thailand Super Series : B-Quik Racing to campaign new Audi R8 LMS GT3 in 2019

B-Quik Racing Co. Ltd. TM (“B-Quik Racing”) is pleased to announce it will campaign a new 2019 evolution Audi R8 LMS GT3 in Thailand Super Series (“TSS”) next season driven by Henk Kiks and Daniel Bilski in Super Car GTM Plus.

The dynamic new Audi R8 LMS GT3 is a big step forward for B-Quik Racing but it’s a step that we been steadily working towards and is the culmination of several years of laying the groundwork and putting a robust platform for the future growth of the team in place.

Emphasising our commitment, we will be the first team in Asia to take delivery of the new 2019 R8 LMS GT3.

Acquiring the new Audi R8 LMS GT3 represents a significant strengthening of the relationship between B-Quik Racing and Audi Sport customer racing Asia. We ran the Audi R8 LMS Cup for several seasons with great success including a trio of podiums in the Sepang 12 Hours (2014-2016) which culminated in victory during the final year. At the same time, we claimed two championship titles in the Audi Sport R8 LMS Cup series, the “AM Cup” (2015) and the “Masters Cup” (2016). We also campaigned the car to win the inaugural Super Car GTM Plus Teams’ title last year.

For this year we upgraded to an R8 LMS Ultra GT3 for GTM Plus and it’s a logical – albeit very big step – to now run the new R8 LMS GT3 in Super Car GTM Plus during the 2019 TSS season which will kick off at Sepang Circuit in April before moving onto Buriram in June and then the iconic Bangsaen Grand Prix at the end of August with a return trip to Buriram for the season finale coming up in late October.

“B-Quik Racing has been a long-term partner of Audi Sport customer racing and with the new Audi R8 LMS they have now taken the next step in the team’s development,” said Martin Kuehl, Director of Audi Sport customer racing Asia. “We look forward to seeing them battling once more for titles in 2019.”

Henk and Daniel represent the best of all worlds to drive the new car as they arrive with multiple seasons of experience firstly with the R8 LMS Cup and then last year with the R8 Ultra GT3. They also shared the cockpit during all three of our successes in the Sepang 12 Hours.

A committed, competitive and very well-rounded pairing they know all the TSS circuits inside out and both will start the new season coming off the back of podiums earned during the final round this year.

The 2019 evolution of the R8 LMS GT3 sees upgrades compared the current car, not least visually in the much more aggressive front-end aero treatment while the back has been reworked. The new racecar received its world debut at the Paris Motor Show in October and according to Audi it offers improvements to durability, reliability and well as the new aero, there’s also improved cooling and revised floor.

In fact, Audi says that engineering development of the “evo” model focused on four key areas, namely aero, brakes cooling, clutch and transmission.

B-Quik Racing is supported by B-Quik, Michelin, Mobil 1, Bendix, Yuasa, NGK, Liqui Moly, STI and WAC Car Detailing.

Henk Kiks: “We’re very pleased that it’s come together for the team to run the new 2019 Audi R8 LMS GT3 next year. This represents a big step forward for B-Quik Racing but through our first decade we have consistently stepped up and we’re in the place where the new R8 LMS GT3 is the right fit for the team to go forward to the next level. I would like to thank Audi Sport customer racing Asia for all their work in putting this together which builds on the long-term support and assistance they have given us. We know we have a lot of hard work to do before we start racing with our new car next year but the team will certainly have an extra spring in its step going into Christmas and next year.”

Daniel Bilski: “Confirmation that B-Quik Racing will run the new 2019 Audi R8 LMS GT3 for next season is incredibly exciting. B-Quik Racing continues to push itself to the next level of performance and arrival of the new car shows the commitment to do so. Arrival of the new car is a testament to the relationship the team has built with Audi Sport customer racing, and confidence it has in the new R8 GT3 as a platform to build the next level of success for the team. I’m incredibly proud to be part of the team’s plans for 2019 and can’t wait for testing to begin in the new year.”
