Few but good, damned and immediately and fast, so fast. These were the feedback obtained by Krypton Motorsport in the pre-season tests carried out in recent weeks, at the dawn of a new “racing season”, the second with the Mercedes-AMG GT3 for the only one Italian Customer Team. The assessments, regarding the contexts in which to be measured this year, had already been done well in advance. To see the participation of the Rovato team, will therefore be the first races of the “International GT Open” championships with the drivers Mario Cordoni and Marco Zanuttini and the “3 Hours Endurance Champions Cup” with a crew composed again by Cordoni and Zanuttini plus a third driver, Stefano Pezzucchi, driver and Team Principal of Krypton Motorsport.
In anticipation of this, the Brescian team, has carried out some preliminary tests for the tuning out of the vehicle and the knowledge of the car, by the new bearers of Krypton. Stands out, he second best lap time, achieved in the two days of “official winter test” in Barcelona of the International GT Open by the Mercedes-AMG GT3 in the new “Black & White” livery. The tests then continued last week, with other excellent results, both at the Mugello Circuit and at the Monza National Circuit,.
So the time has come to prepare “weapons and baggage” in anticipation of the first race at Mugello, scheduled on next April 7, 2018, which is immediately after Easter. It will be a 3H ECC that could prove more challenging than expected, but it will be a real bench test for the drivers and Krypton Motorsport’s crew, that will have to remove a bit of “rust”, after the long winter in Brescia.
Following, almost without having time to “catch a breath”, Round 1 at the Autodromo do Estoril in Portugal, April 14 and 15, 2018, for the first round of the International GT Open championship, which is confirmed also this year, as a benchmark for many international teams, by virtue of the fact that promotion and organization of the campionshipand is very well done and consequently many prestigious teams and drivers, coming from all over Europe, have registered. They will find here a valid alternative to national contexts, hoping then to make the leap towards the Blancpain Gt Series and the European Le Mans Series.
Krypton Motorsport also looks ahead and has already laid the foundations, for a final season outside Europe, starting some negotiations with people and promoters.
There is the usual desire to start which makes us shivers, the awareness of trying something difficult, from economic and human and sporting reasons. It is equally true that the higher the level is, the greater the possibility of measuring oneself and improving, if it were to serve. The satisfaction of course, will also be commensurate and great if victories will come. It has already happened in the history of the Team … Why not keep believing?
