Last weekend, the superb circuit of Barber Motorsports Park (Alabama) hosted the second round of the IMSA Prototype Challenge. After a very successful start at Sebring, the new Norma M30 of the Kelly Moss team, drive by the young Colin Thompson, showed once again its very high level of performance, alone against the dozen Ligier, including that of Kenton Koch (winner of 24H Daytona 2016 in LMPC).

Fourth in Race 1 after suffering a hang in the first lap, the Norma seized the Pole for Race 2, a race that the Norma dominate during 3/4 of the race before that a re-start failed after a FCY (full course yellow). The Norma finished finally on third position, a position that did not entirely satisfy Norbert Santos, the founder of Norma, present on the spot: “The final result of this weekend could have been even better, but our car has clearly shown its very high level of performance. I know today that the M30 will win soon here in the USA as in Europe.”

After the first two events of the IMSA Championship, the Norma of Colin Thompson already takes to the second position of the championship.

Next meeting end of June for the 3rd event at Watkins Glen.
