The Norma n°6 crew, leader in the Prestige, candidate for the title of the Proto CN Challenge

The victory achieved by the Norma M20 FC n°6 in Dijon sounded like a deliverance for Bruno Bazaud, Philippe Thirion and Denis Caillon. Not satisfied with the first place in the Prestige, they now assert themselves as contenders for the overall title!

The TFT racing team could be satisfied the evening of the meeting in Burgundy. The #2 couldn’t fight till the end for the podium because it ran off the track which made it lose three laps. Its trio though – Ander Vilarino, Alain Ferté and Philippe Illiano scored precious points at the top of the European Endurance Proto V de V Challenge. They are now ahead of their teammates for 18.5 points, together in the #6. It’s a reward for a path that started with the beginning of the season, when the trio was leading the first three rounds, without ever being able to concretize, especially at the Paul Ricard Circuit where a mechanical problem stopped the impeccable course of the drivers.“It’s great, because we’ve been trying for a while and we’re competitive,” said Denis Caillon upon his arrival in Dijon. We are over 50 and this championship is extremely contentious. We struggled, we succeeded in managing the tyres … the luck almost smiled at us at Barcelona, then at Portimao, then at the Castellet. This car spent a lot of time being at the top, since the beginning of the season, and finally we hold the victory ! It is a real pleasure and it’s thanks to TFT, to my teammates, to our mechanics, to our engineer, Nicolas, who crafts fantastic strategies … An incredible feeling that we must all share as a team. “Tony Pereira’s team celebrated the double in Burgundy, completed by the Norma #5 driven by Jean-Lou Rihon, Simon Phillips and Philippe Cimadomo. They are second under the checkered flag, in the Prestige, but also in the provisional general classification of the category. The return is going to be hot in Jarama, from the 1st to the 3rd of September!
