The Valencia GT 1000 Kms postponed to 2018

GT Sport today announced the postponement to 2018 of the inaugural edition of the Valencia GT 1000 Kms, which was initially scheduled to take place at Circuit Ricardo Tormo on 1st-2nd December this year.

Jesús Pareja, CEO of GT Sport, commented: “We were warmly encouraged by the very positive response that the Valencia GT 1000 Kms had attracted among teams and drivers, but have been surprised by the numbers of confirmed entries, which would have allowed us to  run the event, but not meet the dimension and level we are targeting. One of the reasons may be that we were focusing mainly on GT3 cars. We will now consider other options in order to come up with a formula that offers greater guarantees of success for all, and with enough lead time for everybody. I want to thank all teams and drivers that formalized their entry for 2017 and apologize for any inconvenience caused. I am sure we can rely on their understanding and support.”
