The No. 96 Turner BMW M6 GT3 rolls into the “National Park of Speed” for the ninth round of the 2017 WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and the Continental Tire Road Race Showcase on the 4.048-mile, 14-corner Road America.
The blue and yellow Turner BMW livery returns to Road America with a new addition as the BMW NA customer racing team teams up with BMW of North America to race in support of the BMW Ultimate Driving Experience.
The livery will be displayed on the No. 96 M6 GT3 competing in the GTD class for both Road America and Virginia International Raceway.
Season regular BMW Motorsport driver Jens Klingmann will be joined by Jesse Krohn to mark their fourth race this season together behind the wheel of the No. 96 Turner BMW. The duo most recently competed at Lime Rock Park in July.
The Turner Motorsport BMWs are no strangers to the podium at Road America, with appearances in three out of the last five years.
“This will be my second time at Road America,” Klingmann said. “This has definitely become one of my favorites on the schedule so I am looking forward to getting back behind the wheel of our BMW M6 here this weekend. With all the improvements we have made on the M6 since last year, we hope we will be in the fight for the podium!”
Currently, Klingmann sits eighth in driver points for the season while the No. 96 Turner BMW also sits eighth in team points with eight rounds completed.
“I can’t explain how happy we are to team up with BMW NA for the next two rounds of racing, “Will Turner said. “We are proud to support BMW’s Ultimate Driving Experience, it really is an amazing program. Check out BMW’s website and watch the video, it made my heart beat faster! Can you drive? Just awesome.”
