Twin Busch Motorsport join ADAC GT Masters fielding an Audi

The Super Sports Car League is gaining a new addition with well-known outfit, Twin Busch Motorsport, who will field an Audi R8. After many successful years at the Nürburgring-Nordschleife, Twin Busch team principal Harald Busch will enter an R8 for his twin sons, Marc and Dennis (both 29), in the 2017 season. The ADAC GT Masters will kick off the 2017 season on the weekend of 28th – 30th April at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben. SPORT1 will broadcast all races live and in full.

“We want to do something different after many years in the VLN long-distance championship,” says team boss Harald Busch, explaining the switch from the grass-roots series to the Super Sports Car League. “We expect to find even more pressure to win and a highly competitive field in the ADAC GT Masters. There’ll be a great deal in a short time, but we’re up for that. Our previous successes show that we have class.”

Twin Busch Motorsport have already notched up a number of triumphs, including two overall wins at the Nürburgring-Nordschleife, with the current Audi R8 and its predecessor. The privateers are well established as a team. The twins understand each other totally, have shared a car since 2007 and have racked up many more successes in the years that followed. They have both competed in a GT3 sports car since 2012, but while the ADAC GT Masters is new to Marc Busch, his brother Dennis was a guest starter at the Nürburgring last year, finishing twice in the Top Ten alongside former champion Christopher Haase.

Any talk of the Nürburgring being a home race for Twin Busch Motorsport is directly contradicted by the team boss himself: “The ADAC GT Masters’ race schedule is very attractive, but we are especially looking forward to the races at the Hockenheimring which is less than half-an-hour away from team headquarters in Bensheim.”
