Kessel Racing will be back to defend their title at Yas Marina Circuit in December following confirmation that they will be entering three Ferrari 488 in the 2017 Gulf 12 Hours. The driver line ups have yet to be confirmed.
The 2015 and 2016 absolute winners will be going for a hat-trick of victories on 16 December when their three Ferrari 488 GT3 take to the track for the 12-hour endurance race. The Swiss team are one of two competitors, alongside the Italian team AF Corse, to have contested all six of the previous editions of the Gulf 12 Hours.
Race promoter, Andrea Ficarelli, said: “We are delighted to welcome Kessel Racing to the Gulf 12 Hours for the seventh time. While the introduction of the LMP3 cars will bring added excitement to the race, we still consider GT to be the top class and expect them to race for the absolute win as “pro” driver line ups will be allowed in the GT class only.”
