V8 Racing has firmed up the line-up for its second Chevrolet Camaro GT4.R in this year’s GT4 European Series. Former series champion Jelle Beelen joins Wolf Nathan for a title-push in the Pro-Am class in the ever-growing European championship.

Beelen and Nathan both have a long and successful history with the Schiedam-based team and that relationship is instrumental as the team aims to be competitive from the first session of the season. “We know both drivers really well. Jelle raced for us in the previous version of the Camaro and took the title in 2015 while Wolf has been part of our GT Open and 24h Series programs. There is a lot of trust and confidence between us and this is vital If we want to hit the ground running with our new Camaro GT4.R”, explains team-owner Rick Abresch.

The signing of Beelen and Nathan means that V8 Racing will have two irons in the fire when it comes to the Pro-Am class of the GT4 European Series with the first announced driver pairing of Duncan Huisman and Luc Braams being the reigning champions in the class. “With these two line-ups and the support of Pratt&Miller we have given ourselves the best possible foundation to push for the title in the Camaro’s debut year”, says team manager Francesco Pastorelli. “All of our drivers have worked with each other before and together we will push to get the most out of our comeback season in the championship.

Beelen and Nathan were on hand on Thursday for the series’ official test day at the Belgian circuit of Zolder and are impressed with the new American musclecar. “The car is a significant step forward from the Camaro that I raced a few years ago when we won the title”, concludes Beelen. “GM, Pratt&Miller and V8 Racing have done an excellent job and this car is a great weapon to be able to race with.” Wolf Nathan was equally impressed with the new GT4.R, as well as the state of the series: “There are over 40 cars here, run by great teams and driven by some big names so we will have to be at the top of our game. But with this team and this car we should be in the mix.”

The GT4 European Series kicks off at the Belgian Zolder track on the 7th and 8th of April and is run in support of the Blancpain Sprint Series.
