For the first time this season, the Oreca 07 #31 will start the race in pole position. The #13 will be P3 on the starting grid.
Once again, this second part of the season was a success for the Vaillante REBELLION #31. Bruno Senna and Julien Canal did a great relay on the qualifying session to finish leading the LMP2 category.
The sister car #13 driven in qualifying session by Nelson Piquet Jr and David Heinemeier Hansson will start the race on an interesting third place shortly preceded by the G-Drive Racing #26.
See you tomorrow at 11:00 am (local time) for the penultimate race of the FIA WEC season!
Bruno Senna, #31 driver:
“Fantastic result to be on Pole for the first time this season. The team is coming together better and better all the time and the results have been very strong for us the 2nd half of the year! We’ll try to reduce the points gap to #38 tomorrow!”
Julien Canal, #31 driver:
“It’s a great chance to get closer to the championship. I’m really happy with my lap in the qualifying session. Bruno did once again a great job and I’m still pleased to work with him, with Nico and the rest of the team! I’m sure if we keep pushing we will be able to do the same thing to Bahrain.”
David Heinemeier Hansson, #13 driver:
“Qualifying was pretty good. Great job by #31 to take pole. We will start P3, which is a nice place to start for the race. We’ll give it our best.”
