SVC The Motorsport Group changes its GT racing programme and with Scuderia Villorba Corse they started a prestigious collaboration with Mercedes-AMG. In 2019 the Italian team led by Raimondo Amadio will take part to different series with two GT cars from the German manufacturer: the first is a GT3 model to be competing in the 2019 Le Mans Cup and in the 24 Hours of Spa; the other one is a GT4 car and its racing programme will be soon confirmed. For the first time Villorba Corse is stepping in the Mercedes-AMG Customer Racing. This new partnership reinforces the team presence in the endurance racing world (where Villorba Corse is already competing with Le Mans Prototypes) and it enhances its racing history adding one of the most fascinating and successfull brand, from GT competitions to Formula 1.

Powered by an optimised AMG 6.3-litre V8 engine, Villorba Corse Mercedes-AMG GT3 will participate in the 2019 Le Mans Cup with racing drivers Mauro Calamia and Roberto Pampanini, starting from the first round in Le Castellet on April 13. Besides, after an incredible experience in the 2014 edition, the new commitments with the Mercedes-AMG GT3 will mark the Villorba Corse comeback at the 24 Hours of Spa. For this classic event, to be held on July 27-28 and part of the 2019 Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup, the team is considering to reinforce its driver line up. In the same international series Villorba Corse will participate in the Paul Ricard 1000 km on June the 1st at Le Castellet.

Raimondo Amadio, team principal, says: “This new partnership makes us really proud and will make our 2019 season even more exciting. It will allow our structure to build a stronger GT division alongside our solid LMP department. Being close to such a prestigious partner as Mercedes-AMG pushes the entire team towards high motivations, aiming be competitive from the very beginning of the season. As all SVC current programmes, this is a long-term project that will add further stability to the future”.
